nemil shah (m, 25) is a mumbai based artist who mostly works in the realms of films and video installations. his debut short film named dal bhat won various accolades including the national film award for best short fiction film and was also an official entry to the oscars. in the amazon rainforst of peru in, he created an video- odour installation- "9-3", which opened along with the works of apichatpong weerasethakul and others in Yogyakarta. he is currently shooting his next short film in thailand. his future projects includes his first feature film- "7-7", which is based in india and ghana. it has recently received the "asian cinema fund" for script development. he likes to explore the basic necessities of life and hopes to find the ecstatic truth in the simple things by making films.
pushpendra singh is a graduate of the film and television institute of india, pune where he is now a visiting faculty. he has directed and produced four feature films. his debut film, the honour keeper premiered in the berlinale in 2014. his second feature, ashwatthama received the asian cinema fund and premiered in the new currents competition at busan international film festival in 2017. his third feature, a creative documentary, pearl of the desert received the asian cinema fund and the dmz documentary grant and premiered in the feature length competition at idfa in 2019. it also won the golden hejnal at krakow international film festival. his latest, the shepherdess and the seven songs premiered in the inaugural encounters competition at berlinale in 2020 and won the best director award at hong kong international film festival and the netpac award at jeonju international film festival.
pushpendra also acted and managed the production of the man's woman and other stories directed by amit dutta which won the special jury mention at venice international film festival in 2009.
